What is The Eloquence Club?
The Eloquence Club is a student-led initiative at ACE Engineering College designed to nurture communication, creativity, and confidence through structured activities across podcasting, blogging, reporting, and public speaking.
Who can join The Eloquence Club?
Any student from ACE Engineering College who is interested in improving their communication skills, creative expression, or public speaking is welcome to join.
How is the club structured?
The club is divided into four core wings:
- Podcast Wing
- Blogging & Magazine Wing
- News Reporting Wing
- Campus Talks Wing
Each wing has specific goals and student-led teams, supervised by faculty coordinators.
What kind of activities does the club conduct?
We host:
- Monthly competitions like debates, JAM, quizzes, and writing contests.
- Weekly podcasts and blog posts.
- News updates on our website.
- Monthly Campus Talks modeled after TED Talks.
- Events like open mics, writing marathons, and workshops.
How can I contribute if I’m not confident in public speaking?
The club offers various roles such as writing, editing, logistics, design, and event planning. You can work behind the scenes while gradually building confidence to take on speaking roles.
Is there a selection process for joining the club?
Yes. Students may be asked to fill out an application form or attend an informal interaction round to help us understand your interests and assign roles accordingly.
How are leadership roles assigned?
Leadership roles (e.g., President, Vice President, Wing Heads) are assigned based on interviews and evaluations. There is no election system at present. Tenure is typically one semester and is renewable based on performance.
What are the benefits of being a club member?
Members gain:
- Hands-on experience in content creation and event management.
- Portfolio-building opportunities (blogs, podcasts, reports).
- Improved communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
- Mentoring and feedback from faculty and peers.
Will participation be tracked and evaluated?
Yes. We track attendance, task completion, and overall contribution. Members receive feedback and performance reviews to help them grow and improve.
What happens if I miss meetings or fail to participate?
Consistent non-participation without valid reasons may lead to removal from the club. We value commitment and teamwork and provide support to help members stay engaged.
Can I switch between wings or work in multiple areas?
Yes, flexibility is encouraged. Students can collaborate across wings or shift roles based on their evolving interests and strengths, with coordinator approval.
How can I stay updated on club activities?
Follow us on our social media pages (Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube), check the college notice board, and keep an eye on our official website for announcements.
